Perfectly Cooked Sausage

Here's another delicious purchase from Paulina Meat Market (as used in Blue Cheese Stuffed Burgers and Beer Boiled Pork Brat, Green Pepper, and Onion Skewers)

  • 1 lb. sweet Italian sausage (casing on)
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  1. Cut up sausage to link sizes (if not already pre-cut)
  2. Add sausage to skillet over medium heat
  3. Cook for about 8 minutes, rotating sausages, until browned on all sides
  4. Turn heat to low
  5. Add water, cover, and simmer for 12 minutes
  6. Uncover, and cut links into chunks
  7. Add olive oil, and continue to brown until fully cooked and no longer pink inside (this took me about 20 minutes)
Used in Bow Tie Pasta with Sweet Italian Sausage, Artichoke Hearts, and Sundried Tomatoes in a Cream Sauce
