Homemade Dog Treats

It was our dog's first birthday, so I wanted to make him and his brothers and sisters monogrammed dog treats. These turned out great! And they were a lot of fun to make.

Ingredients:
  • 2 1/2 c. whole wheat/barley/brown rice flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. canned pumpkin (about half a can)
  • 3 tbsp. peanut butter
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp. dry milk
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Whisk together eggs and pumpkin
  3. Stir in everything else but the flour
  4. Add flour slowly to form a stiff, dry dough
  5. Add flour to a dry surface and roll dough out
  6. Use cookie cutters to punch out shapes
  7. Monogram names with a toothpick, or use a fork to make bone pattern
  8. Bake 20 minutes
  9. Flip biscuits over
  10. Bake for another 20 minutes
  11. Allow to cool completely on a cooling rack before giving to dog
Enjoy!
