I am so obsessed with browning butter right now. The smell is amazing and the taste is even better. This was such a good treat that completely escalated the taste of a typical Rice Krispies treat. You have to try this right now. Seriously. Go to the store now, get in your kitchen, and whip this up. Fall in a dessert :)
Ingredients:
- 7 c. Rice Krispies cereal
- 1- 10 ounce bag (about 5 cups) mini marshmallows
- 1 stick unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
- Spray a brownie pan with cooking spray
- Measure out cereal in a bowl
- Measure out marshmallows in another bowl
- Melt butter in a small pot over medium. Keep stirring until butter starts to brown and smell nutty (you might think to yourself, "This is never going to happen." Keep stirring! I promise it will. Don't get impatient and turn up the heat)
- Immediately remove from heat as you don't want it to burn
- Pour butter over marshmallows
- Stir
- Put bowl in microwave for 30 seconds
- Stir
- Repeat #8 and #9 until all marshmallows are melted
- Put cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger together
- Add to marshmallow mixture and combine
- Add cereal to marshmallow and stir well (this will get hard! I buttered my hands and used my hands. Also it's nice to have a husband who helps :))
- Press cereal evenly into baking sheet and smooth top and corners with buttered hands
- Cool completely
- Cut into bars
Later on I coated these in chocolate and candy bits... even more amazing!

Enjoy!
