Double Fudge Peppermint Brownies

Obsessed with chocolate and peppermint right now. I thought it would be fun to sprinkle peppermint chunks inside of the brownies, but I didn't realize until later that the peppermint would actually melt into the batter! So when you eat the brownies, you taste peppermint, but it's not overpowering. Delicious!

Ingredients:
  • Double fudge brownie mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. melted butter
  • 1/3 c. water
  • 20 mini peppermint candy canes
Directions:
  1. Set oven to 350 degrees
  2. Mix the brownie batter together, using double the amount of melted butter instead of oil.
  3. Put the candy canes into a Ziploc bag and crush with a hammer
  4. Pour half of the candy cane bits into the brownie batter
  5. Spray a brownie pan with cooking spray
  6. Pour in brownie batter
  7. Top with half of the remaining candy cane bits (1/4 of the original)
  8. Bake according to directions, or until toothpick comes out clean
  9. When completely cooled, top with the rest of the candy cane bits

Enjoy!
